Chamber Ensembles
Weekly rehearsals take place at the Reva & David Logan Center for the Arts and are scheduled on a group-by-group basis.
Tuition: $250.00/semester
Small ensembles of three to five students meet weekly with professional performers and educators in the Chicago area to learn the intricacies of performing both as soloists (one person per part) and ensemble players (playing with a group).
Students elect to be involved in Chamber Music at the start of each semester in addition to their orchestral experience. They are then placed into groups of compatible players, and they work together for one hour each week to prepare selections for performance.
Led by expert coaches including Kelly Quesada, Lindsay Wright, and Maria Arrua, these musicians learn to perform without a conductor or teacher leading them. At the end of each semester, the chamber groups perform in a final concert.
Currently, only string players who are members of Youth Symphony or have auditioned to be a part of Chamber Music are eligible for Chamber Music. Stay tuned for expansions to the program in upcoming seasons.
