On December 19th at our Winter Concert, the students presented a tribute to our Artistic Director Matthew Sheppard for his 10th anniversary with the Hyde Park Youth Symphony.

Students, parents, and Board Members also contributed by making a special tribute video for Mr. Sheppard.

HPYS Crescendo Fund

The HPYS Crescendo Fund is being initiated in 2024 in honor of Matthew Sheppard’s 10-year anniversary as the Artistic Director of Hyde Park Youth Symphony.  Over this time, Matt has provided HPYS students with a program that prioritizes student’s musical development and positive experiences while also raising the performance level of the ensembles.  

The purpose of the HPYS Crescendo Fund is to enable the Artistic Director to pursue program enhancements each year without impacting the general operating fund.  Donations to the Fund will be distributed over the next ten years to support initiatives as directed by the Artistic Director in consultation with the board.  Funds may be used to enhance the student experience, bring in guest artists, build collaborations with other organizations, support new program ideas, or in other ways the Artistic Director feels will best serve HPYS and its students.
